UNI Learning through video

NTNU
Enrollment is Closed

Welcome to our online course on how to make your own educational videos

The use of videos can be useful in teaching situations where you are physically together with your students (lectures, exercises, laboratory experiments, etc.), but also when viewed between such sessions. This can prepare students and present content where film/video is a better medium than a printed text. Most teachers will be able to make use of videos made by others. Access to suitable videos is easier than ever via e.g. YouTube. However, many people find that such videos do not quite meet their needs.

Technology for making your own videos has become readily available to most of us, both in terms of price, and ease of use. At the same time, research and development of educational use of videos in teaching is well known.

In the course you will learn about:

  • Why videos are useful in teaching, based on research and experience
  • How to make videos, either on your own or with limited help from others
  • Requirements for audio and video equipment (microphones and cameras) and how to edit and publish your videos

The course is free and open to all. You can start at any time and spend whatever time you like; however, the workload is estimated to be 20 hours. At the end of the course, you can be issued with a course certificate if you have completed and passed the course requirements.
